During the start of the Pandemic, our journeys were cancelled one by one and many of our dedicated volunteer drivers were asked to self-isolate.
But we couldn’t stand still and we weren’t about to close our telephone lines. Yes, we knew that hardly any journeys would be required but we were still needed as a lifeline and another social contact.
Whilst quiet we created a befriending service and contacted our elderly and vulnerable clients to check on their well-being. Our volunteers are helping us with regular calls and reporting on any concerns they may have.
We have received lots of positive feedback from our clients, which is wonderful.
